Engr. Col Muhammad Munir Akhtar Butt (R)

Engineer Muhammad Munir Akhtar Butt is an experienced academician and a professional engineer, graduated in BS (Telecom Engineering) and MS(Computer Software Engineering). He has been on academic assignments for more than FIFTEEN years in National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and in various military institutions. During his professional career, he has served on Academics, Management and Senior Staff assignments. Received professional training from renowned national and international institutions. He has served on several Committees and Boards related to academic management and university governance during his career. He is also on Technical Panel of some private sector organization as an ICT Consultant. He has participated in large number of national/ international conferences related to academic management, quality assurance, public relations in academia, university administration, training and leadership. He is a member of University’s senior management team. In his current assignment at NDU, he is dealing with provision of comprehensive IT services to academic business of the university, Student’s Affairs, Scholarships, Internships/ Placement and Public Relations. He is a member of the University’s statutory bodies and also a Focal Person with various Public and Private Sector Departments/ Organizations for relevant matters.

Students of NDU-FCS are facilitated towards improvement of their educational objectives, social responsibilities, personal and intellectual development so that they get absorbed in public and private sector orgs, both inland and abroad, as a preferred choice. Also bring brilliant students, facing fin hardships, to the university and provide them opportunity to progress in their career.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

PRSA&IT NDU is to make meaningful connections with each and every member of the university community. Connecting students, alumni, relevant institutions/ orgs/ foundations, parents and friends, faculty and staff is critical to NDU's future. The Centre has adopted integrated method of managing relationship to increase understanding and support among educational institutions and key constituents including alumni and friends, government policy makers, the media, members of the community and philanthropic entities. PRSA&IT at NDU focuses on institutional excellence, student's access, diversity and partnership.

COUNSELING SERVICES

PRSA&IT is dedicated to provide essential svcs to students to enhance their intellectual, social and personality aspects. A well motivated team provides guidance and counseling service to the students, employees and teachers regarding their 1personal and professional development through a free confidential professional counseling service.

In this regard Workshops/Lectures/Seminars on general counseling, career counseling and awareness on social and psychological related issues are arranged in an academic year for the students as well as awareness lectures for their parents. The purpose of such activities is to provide support services to enhance soft skills among the educational community which will contribute in character building, personal and professional behaviors of the students. A Professional Counselor at PRSA&IT helps the students in determining their strengths and weaknesses, and identifying aptitudes there by helping them to make the right career choice. Students may visit/approach PRSA&IT for necessary guidance and assistance

COMMUNITY SERVICES AND FUND RAISING

Community service is a very important activity for the students to give them awareness about their social responsibilities and nation building activities. Such services provide students with opportunities to become active in the community and positive contributors in the society. In this regard, undergraduate students will be more active, enthusiastic and futuristic force that can engage themselves in these activities and create special bond with the community.

CAPACITY BUILDING

In order to develop and strengthen the human and institutional resources, PRSA&IT tries to grab the opportunities of capacity building through attending/participating workshops, seminars, lectures and symposiums that are held inside/outside the NDU. This helps to increase the knowledge, output rate and management skills leading towards the increased efficiency of the organization. Following activities under Capacity Building are being done:

Director PRSA&IT attended the Special Senate Session on 5th Aug, 2016 celebrating the Senate Founding Day at Parliament House Islamabad.

Director PRSA&IT has attended the Int. Symposium at HEC on 'Technology Entrepreneurship and Incubation' organized by HEC, National ICT R&D Fund and the Center for Entrepreneurial Development IBA Karachi on 19th and 20th Aug, 2016. The Symposium aimed to bring together various local and international academicians, practitioners, policy makers and industry specialists for a dialogue on Entrepreneurship education and eco system, with a focus on Technology Entrepreneurship and Incubation.

Director PRSA&IT was invited by Chairman NTC to attend the inaugural Ceremony of establishment of National Data Centre under Ministry of IT and Telecommunication at Marriot Hotel on 24th Aug, 2016. The event provides an opportunity to explore opportunities of internships for NDU Students and promoting NDU presence in Public and Private Sector.



FINANCIAL AID OFFICE (FAO)

The FAO is effectively functional in managing scholarship affairs under the umbrella of PRSA&IT Center. This office fulfills the mission to develop a good repute with employers/ donor agencies and facilitate students for scholarships, financial assistance, loans etc. It carries out the functions in accordance with the HEC and NDU guidelines for acquisition, processing and monitoring of various scholarships/ financial assistance. In this regard, number of financial assistance/scholarships including merit and need based are available for to NDU students. Concerned students can approach PRSA&IT for guidance or information.
